Climate Change, hunger, food insecurity, widening inequality, social exclusion, unemployment among youth and women among others. Environmental conservation and protection are at the heart of our operations as we strongly believe it is the foundation of a successful development agenda. We are guided by the global universal call to “leave no one behind” and as such, the aim to support the achievement of the global Sustainable Development agenda 2030 is spread out across all our main objectives. We believe in development co-operation, not to create a perfect world but to help create a better one. Where we work

One Future Trust - About - Where We Work

KENYA

With annual economic growth of over five per cent, Kenya is an economic powerhouse in East Africa and also plays an important role politically in stabilising the region.

Yet the country faces considerable challenges. There are marked social, economic and regional disparities and over a third of the population lives below the national poverty line. There is high youth unemployment, and rapid population growth of over 2.5 per cent is making it hard to combat poverty. Kenya ranks 147th out of the 188 countries currently ranked on the Human Development Index (HDI). There is widespread corruption.

Tensions arise regularly between the over 40 ethnic groups living in Kenya, who speak 50 different languages. The situation has been aggravated by the regional conflicts in neighbouring South Sudan and Somalia. Over 400,000 refugees are living in Kenya, mostly in camps in border areas.
