This project is co-financed by the Regione del Veneto, promoted by Amici dei Popoli (ADP), and executed in partnership with One World One Future Trust (OWOFT) and The Harvester Eco Farm. Our goal is to empower 20 Maasai women by providing them with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the agricultural sector.
Project Goals and Objectives
Our project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, specifically focusing on SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). By creating stable, formal jobs for women, we aim to boost their income, foster economic growth, and enhance their ability to contribute to social, political, and economic change.
Key Objectives:
Equip women with modern agricultural farming skills
Enhance their employability
Provide medical health coverage to ensure access to quality healthcare
Activities and Implementation
To achieve our objectives, we are implementing the following activities:
1. Coordination and Monitoring: Regular oversight to ensure the project’s success.
2. Support for Agricultural Work: Focus on the most vulnerable women by providing continuous employment, expanding workspaces, and implementing advanced agricultural tools. This includes the purchase and installation of three greenhouses with a drip irrigation system.
3. Health Insurance: Providing beneficiaries with health insurance to ensure they have access to decent medical care.
The Harvester Eco Farm is committed to continuing the employment of these women even after the project’s conclusion.
Join us in supporting this transformative initiative and making a lasting impact on the lives of women in Kajiado County.
